Proposed community initiative
Purpose and Puducherry context
Digital access can support learning when the device, connectivity, safety guidance and actual educational purpose are considered together rather than treating hardware alone as the outcome.
What responsible support could include
- Approved learning devices or shared access
- Basic digital-literacy and online-safety sessions
- Educational resources selected for the learner’s level
How delivery would work
A future program would assess learning need, safe use, ownership, maintenance and data costs before assigning equipment. Donated devices would require secure wiping and functional checks.
Before launch, the responsible staff member, service area, timeframe, approved cost and outcome records would be defined. Intended activity, money received, money spent and completed outcome would be reported separately.
Eligibility, privacy and safeguarding
Eligibility rules must be approved before applications are invited. Only the minimum personal information required for review should be collected, and the public campaign record remains separate from a beneficiary’s private case. Information that identifies a child or vulnerable adult would not be published without specific consent and safeguarding review.
How volunteers could contribute
Screened technology volunteers could teach digital basics, prepare devices, provide safe-use guidance and help maintain an equipment register.
A volunteer registration is not an immediate assignment. Roles involving children, health, home visits, money or sensitive records may require identity, qualification, reference or safeguarding checks.
Donation allocation and accountable reporting
This proposal does not yet have an approved target or allocation policy. Before fundraising, the page must say whether a gift is restricted to this activity and what happens if the target is exceeded, the need changes or the program cannot proceed. Restricted gifts must not be silently reassigned.
Frequently asked questions
Is this program active now?
No. This is a proposed service template awaiting the foundation’s program, budget, eligibility and compliance approval. A public page is not evidence that delivery has begun.
Can I refer a person or family?
A request can be submitted through the private assistance application. Please do not post names, addresses, school details, diagnoses or supporting records on a public page or social-media comment.
Is religious participation required to receive help?
No. Essential charitable assistance must be offered without discrimination, coercion or any requirement to attend worship or change faith.
